Health and Safety Co-ordinator
Location: Kent
Benefits: £30-£40K DOE Plus Company car, mobile phone, computer

Our client is a well-established, privately-owned construction company based in London with over 20 years of experience. They serve private sector clients across London and Surrey, delivering successful projects ranging from refurbishments to new builds.

Due to growth, they are looking for a dedicated Health and Safety Coordinator to join their team. This role is crucial in assisting the Director and Managers maintain high health and safety standards across all construction sites. The successful candidate will report directly to the Operations Director, providing essential administrative support and ensuring the effective implementation of health and safety policies and practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review Health & Safety strategies and RAMS (Method Statements and Risk Assessments).
  • Develop safe operational procedures, considering all relevant hazards.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Ensure all work practices are safe and comply with current legislation.
  • Keep detailed records of inspections and produce reports with suggestions for improvements.
  • Record incidents and accidents, producing statistics for managers.
  • Stay updated with new legislation and maintain knowledge of Health and Safety Executive (HSE) guidelines.
  • Advise on specialist areas such as fire regulations, hazardous substances, and safeguarding machinery.

What We're Looking For:

  • At least 1-3 years in a similar role.
  • NEBOSH General (or equivalent) is a must.
  • Strong IT skills, confidentiality, professionalism, excellent planning and organisational skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail, self-motivated, assertive yet calm, and flexible.
