As technical recruiters we spend quite a bit of time on this platform, building connections with candidates and clients. However, it does surprise me how out-of-date some people’s profiles are and how they could be missing out on job opportunities because of it.

As with your CV, it makes sense to update your LinkedIn profile on a regular basis adding in new achievements such as client wins, CPD and of course promotions and new jobs.

Technical candidates in construction, engineering and cyber security (the fields we recruit for) are in high demand, especially those with highly specialist skills and experience. You might not be looking for a new job but a potential employer might want to make you an offer you can’t refuse! But to do this they really need the most up-to-date information about you.
