Our client is an award-winning MEP, Sustainability and Environmental Engineering and Design consultancy with teams of engineers, designers and technical specialists working across various sectors including residential and commercial schemes.

Position: Associate or Principal Utilities Consultant

Location: London OR Manchester OR Leeds

Salary: - £negotiable depending on experience

The role:

Working in partnership with our client, we have an exciting opportunity for a Principal or Associate Utility Consultant with experience of the utility infrastructure construction industry.

The management of risk posed by utility infrastructure on a successful building project is paramount to its success. Issues such as capacity shortages, encroachment on sites, aging assets and commercial opportunities are increasingly requiring a particular skill set to manage.

Our client has a team of experienced consultants who assist developers with their utility industry interfaces, managing the utilities challenges on site and being responsible for all

We would like to hear from you if you have:

  • Experience of making applications, consulting, designing and managing the process of getting sites cleared and buildings connected to utility infrastructure
  • Supporting other team members and managing the delivery of a range of projects
  • Some experience in delivering utility connections, diversions and strategies for construction development projects in the UK.
  • Understanding of Gas, Water, Electricity, Drainage and / or the telecom industry. Proven project experience of utilities in the construction sector
  • An understanding for the need to have both a technical and commercial skill set and technical and commercial understanding of the industry
  • * Proven experience within the built environment sector is essential, working for an engineering or sustainability consultancy Energy strategies
    * Building Regulations Part L assessments using Elmhurst and IES
    * In-use energy modelling and assessment
    * Dynamic modelling for thermal comfort assessments and overheating risk assessments
    * Production of and support of planning submissions.
    * Net zero carbon strategies
    * A degree in an applicable field.
