Shift Schedule: 12-hour weekend day shift (1st week: Thursday - Sunday, 2nd week: Friday - Sunday)
Are you an experienced Critical Facilities Engineer with a strong technical background in data center infrastructure? Our client is looking for a Lead Critical Engineering Technician (LCET) to join their team team and ensure the smooth operation of mission-critical electrical and mechanical systems. This is a hands-on leadership role, responsible for overseeing maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimizing performance to maintain 100% uptime in a high-risk critical environment.
Your impact to the business:
- Maintain and monitor critical electrical, mechanical, and HVAC systems, including UPS, generators, switchgear, chillers, and fire suppression systems.
- Lead maintenance tasks and oversee junior technicians and third-party vendors to ensure strict compliance with SOPs and safety standards.
- Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance to optimize reliability and efficiency.
- Write and execute Methods of Procedure (MOPs), Emergency Operating Procedures (EOPs), and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Analyze Building Management System (BMS), Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM), and Electrical Power Monitoring System (EPMS) data for performance insights.
- Assist with root cause and failure analysis (RCCA) for continuous improvement.
- Respond to emergency situations and ensure rapid resolution of issues.
The Necessities:
- 7+ years of experience in critical facility operations, maintenance, or engineering.
- Strong knowledge of UPS systems, HVAC operations, electrical infrastructure, and fire/life safety systems.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and troubleshoot complex systems.
- Hands-on experience with BMS, DCIM, EPMS, and maintenance management systems.
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to mentor junior technicians.
- Strong understanding of OSHA, NEC, and other safety requirements.
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts, weekends, and respond to emergency situations as needed.
- Comfortable working in a physically demanding environment, including lifting 50lbs, working at heights, and in noisy conditions.
