THE ROLE - Principal / Associate Mechanical Engineer- Data Centers

As part of this global consultants strategic growth plans & significant project pipeline throughout the UAE and KSA, a unique opportunity has arisen for an experienced and technically gifted Principal / Associate Mechanical Engineer (HVAC Design) with a proven background in MEP Building services Design for data centre / critical systems (mission critical) projects, to join their vibrant Dubai office.

This role will suit an ambitious, technically gifted Principal / Associate Mechanical Engineer with natural gravitas and the ability to inspire others. You will be a natural communicator with strong technical MEP Design skills & a strong ambition to provide solutions to global clients.

Client facing skills, excellent leadership capabilities and resource management skills are essential to succeed in this unique, yet challenging role.

Global design delivery is part of my clients solutions, which will see you work with some of the most technically gifted data centre MEP Design experts across the globe, sharing resources, solutions and ideas, so it goes without saying, a collaborative, solution focused mindset is essential

Previous experience within data center design is essential - liquid / immersion cooling, CRAC units, CRAH units etc. Knowledge of UpTime Tier rating requirements is essential.

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS -Principal / Associate Mechanical Engineer- Data Centers role

Along with the above mentioned skills and experience, a degree in mechanical / building services engineering is essential. Additionally:

• You will come from a mechanical building services design background within engineering consultancies.
• Expertise in cooling systems (CRAC, CRAH units, chillers, and air-handling units).
• Knowledge of containment solutions (hot aisle/cold aisle).
• Load calculation and air distribution optimisation.
• Understanding heat loads in data centers.
• Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis for airflow modelling.
• Design of chilled water systems, pumps, and heat exchangers.
• Redundancy systems (N+1, 2N configurations).
• Designing to meet PUE (Power Usage Effectiveness) standards.
• Implementing energy recovery and economiser cooling strategies.
• Familiarity with ASHRAE standards for data center cooling.
• Resource management experience is critical in this position as you will be managing the design delivery for multiple projects throughout the region & potentially globe
• Superb client facing and client management skills are absolutely essential
• Possess a proven, stable and consistent track record in delivering highly technical MEP Design projects within APAC, MENA or Europe.
• Demonstrable technical capabilities in mechanical design for data center projects experience
• The ability to stimulate work regionally
