Are you passionate about power systems and eager to work on cutting-edge engineering solutions? Due to expansion, we're seeking a highly skilled Principal Power Engineer to join the Power Systems Team. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of data centre efficiency, reliability, and sustainability.
Our Client specialises in delivering innovative solutions that enhance the efficiency and sustainability of data centres. As a Principal Power Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing and optimising power systems for data centres.
Your expertise in ETAP, DigSilent, or SKM will drive the reliability and efficiency of power distribution systems.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Conduct load flow analysis for optimal power distribution and system integrity
Coordinate protection systems for enhanced reliability and safety.
Execute arc flash studies to mitigate risks and comply with safety standards.
Contribute to the resilience of power systems under dynamic conditions.
Validate input data for accurate simulation results.
Prepare comprehensive reports detailing results and recommendations.
Maintain accurate documentation for power system simulations and design activities.
Contribute to the improvement of simulation methodologies and expand the team's capabilities to meet demand.
Qualification Requirements:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Power Engineering.
Proven experience in power systems engineering, preferably in the data centre industry.
Proficiency in ETAP (preferred), DigSilent, or SKM.
Experience with Load Flow, Short Circuit Analysis, Protection Coordination, Arc Flash, Harmonic Studies, and Underground Cable Sizing.
Experience in Transient Stability and Earthing Studies is desirable.
Deep understanding of electrical machine models, incl. generators, transformers, motors, and UPS.
Experience in LV and MV systems, ideally HV up to 132 kV.
Strong knowledge of power systems control and SCADA systems.
