Job Title: Financial Controller (Part-time, hybrid 1 or 2 days in the office)

Location: London, UK

Salary: £40K pro-rata DOE for 20 hrs per week

We are looking for a talented part-time Financial Controller to join a dynamic team. This position offers a unique chance to enhance your career while balancing work with other commitments. You will collaborate closely with the leadership team and various departments to refine their financial management systems and drive strategic initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Invoice clients and manage accounts receivable, including regular debt chasing.
  • Ensure cash flow meets operational needs.
  • Serve as the liaison between the Accountant and the company.
  • Set up and manage budget approval systems.
  • Handle all HMRC accounts, ensuring timely submissions and payments.
  • Provide and interpret financial and management reports (QuickBooks experience preferred).
  • Review departmental financial performance, analyzing variances, forecasts, and budgets.
  • Develop strategies to enhance business and financial management efficiency (experience with CMAP Project and Resource Management software is a plus).

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an accounting role, ideally in a small firm.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.
  • Proactive in researching and finding solutions independently.
  • Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA) preferred.
  • Experience in the construction industry and knowledge of CMap and QuickBooks software an advantage but not essential.
