Your impact to the business:

As a Critical Operations Technician (COT), you will support day-to-day operations at a local data center. You will manage mechanical, electrical, fire life safety, and internal data center systems while ensuring safety, availability, and operational efficiency. Key responsibilities include maintaining systems like chilled water, HVAC, UPS, power distribution, and fire safety, as well as implementing preventive maintenance programs.

In this role, you will:

  • Monitor and maintain data center systems (electrical, mechanical, fire life safety).
  • Identify and respond to abnormal system conditions.
  • Assist in preventive maintenance, inventory management, and database management of discrepancies.
  • Ensure operational efficiency and avoid unplanned outages.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, incident response, and follow-up.
  • Perform regular facility and security tours, responding to issues.
  • Technical writing for maintenance procedures and reports.
  • Collaborate with management on safety, operational, and efficiency improvements.

The Necessities:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-3 years of experience in data center or mission-critical operations.
  • Knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems (UPS, PDU, chillers, etc.).
  • Familiarity with NFPA codes and building fire life safety standards.
  • Comfortable working in high-stress, fast-paced environments.
  • Ability to work outside of normal business hours, including on-call duties.
  • S. Navy Nuclear Engineering or Bachelor's degree (preferred).
