Your impact to the business:
As the Director of Special Projects, you will play a pivotal in leading and manage key initiatives, ensuring adherence to cost, schedule, and quality standards. You will facilitate collaboration among design, construction, and commissioning teams, grow and mentor team members, and ensure successful project execution. The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced environments, excels in managing complex projects, and demonstrates a "can-do" attitude.
- Lead and manage special projects, including data centre projects and owner's rep initiatives.
- Facilitate project meetings with design, construction, and commissioning teams.
- Oversee project budgets, schedules, and cash flow, ensuring alignment with goals.
- Report budget and schedule updates to senior leadership.
- Collaborate with customers to ensure the integrity of critical infrastructure.
- Engage with procurement, preconstruction, and commissioning teams.
- Manage contracts, submittals, RFIs, invoicing, and equipment procurement.
- Foster professional growth within the Special Projects team.
- Contribute to business development and growth initiatives.
The Necessities:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
- 4+ years of project management experience required, preferably in construction or data centre industries.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Excel, PowerPoint, PDF, and CAD/Visio.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to perform under pressure and meet tight deadlines with a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
- Open to frequent travel.
- This role requires the ability to perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, climbing, stooping, and lifting up to 60 lbs.
- Additionally, candidates must have the ability to distinguish colors and perform tasks requiring close and distant vision.
- The position may involve work both indoors and outdoors.
