Quantity Surveyor (Intermediate – Senior positions available)

I am currently working with a client of mine and with a growing portfolio of exciting projects,they are looking to expand the team with a dedicated Quantity Surveyor at Intermediate to Senior levels. This role offers the opportunity to work on high-profile fire-rated and ductwork installations, contributing to the successful delivery of complex projects in London.

I am looking for a Quantity Surveyor with experience in ductwork and fire-rated systems. This is a versatile role, suitable for candidates at various levels of experience, from intermediate to senior, depending on your expertise. You will be responsible for managing the financial aspects of ductwork and fire-rated projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with relevant regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed cost estimates, tender documentation, and contract submissions for ductwork and fire-rated systems projects.
• Provide accurate and timely cost reporting, financial forecasts, and budget updates throughout the project lifecycle.
• Oversee procurement processes and negotiate contracts with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure cost-effective solutions.
• Monitor project performance and ensure costs are controlled and managed effectively.
• Address any variations and ensure all project changes are properly documented and approved.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including fire safety and building standards.
• Attend site visits and client meetings to review project progress and resolve commercial issues.
• Support and mentor junior quantity surveyors (if applicable), providing guidance and fostering their development.
• Assist in the preparation of final accounts and project close-out reports.

Key Requirements:

• Experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry, ideally with a focus on ductwork or fire-rated systems (previous experience in either area is essential).
• A solid understanding of construction contracts (e.g., JCT, NEC) and commercial project management.
• Strong cost management skills and the ability to manage and control project budgets effectively.
• Knowledge of fire safety regulations and industry standards related to ductwork installations.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, with excellent organizational skills.
• Relevant qualifications (e.g., RICS, BSc in Quantity Surveying) are advantageous but not essential.
