Job Description

Our client provides a managed service for a major Defence Contractor's Configuration Management function. Based on client sites, they offer support across CAD, BIM, Surveying, Compliance, Data Analytics, Handover & Tooling with a team of approximately 70 people.

As a client-side CAD Manager, you will report to the Operations Manager and support both the Strategic Service Manager and the Integration & Efficiency's Manager.

You will support a diverse customer base including Manufacturing Engineers, Operational Facilities, Production Agencies, and Programmes within the company, ensuring the delivery of equipment that meets the needs of manufacturing processes within your delegated areas of responsibility.

This role requires an on-site presence of up to 2/3 days per week.

Key Objectives

• Development and implementation of a replacement PDM/PLM data management software package in alignment with client requirements and delivery time-lines.
• Development and implementation of Mechanical CAD (Process Plant & Equipment) standards in accordance with client specifications.
• Ensuring alignment of the Mechanical CAD service with a suite of standards and client procedures.

About You

• Experience with the digital integration of Mechanical CAD deliverables with other discipline systems such as Asset Management, BIM, Facilities CAD, and GIS.
• Understanding of configuration management for asset lifecycle management.
• Familiarity with data visualisation tools like Power BI.
• Demonstrated knowledge of technical standards and regulatory requirements for data management.
• Existing SC clearance is preferred; if not, candidates must be willing and able to complete security clearance, potentially up to DV level.
• Advanced knowledge of:
  • Modelling principles.
  • Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, and other relevant software packages.
  • Equipment data and its application within the sector.
  • Hierarchical assembly data.
  • Common data environments and Electronic Data Management Systems (e.g., Vault, Teamcenter).
