Our client is an award-winning and well known, design and engineering consultancy.

We are currently looking to recruit a permanent Principal Electrical Control & Instrumentation (EC&I) Engineer to work mainly on regulated process projects for example, power, chemical or nuclear.

The role

The Principal EC&I Engineer will be a client facing while managing projects or packages on projects. Leading a team of Engineers and Technicians to you will have daily management of the electrical team.

You will be carrying out and managing the design of all EC&I from concept to completion and preparing/reviewing instrument engineering deliverables including instrument datasheets, loop diagrams, cable schedules, IO schedules, instrument schedules, block cable diagrams, single line diagrams, profibusarchitectures, IS calculations. ·

You will be preparing technical specifications and scopes of work for; C&I installations, Motor control centres, PLC/DCS control systems, Environmental monitoring systems while coordinating control centres · Prepare enquiry scopes of work and technical specifications for PLC/DCS control systems.

Reviewing vendor documents for technical compliance and give feedback to project bids and work scopes as required.

We would like to hear from you if you have:

  • Experience in Electrical Control & Instrumentation (EC&I) design and overseeing the delivery of the full project lifecycle.
  • Experience in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries.
  • Knowledge of hazardous area equipment selection and installation design requirements.
  • HNC minimum with suitable experience.
  • Ideally working towards a professional registration (CEng/IEng)

Additional but not essential:

  • Degree-qualified in Control and Instrument Engineering
  • Understanding pharmaceutical clean room equipment selection and installation design requirements
  • Knowledge of safety-related calculations and providing input to safety reviews - HAZOP, LOPA and SIL assessments.
