A unique opportunity has arisen in one of the world’s leading multi-disciplinary consultancies for an Associate Mechanical Engineer – Mission Critical, to be based out of their central London office and join a very talented, established and creative team.

You will be working on some of the most technically challenging, hyper-scale and co location data centre projects as the lead consultant, where MEP is the lead discipline on the project (finally!).

The Associate Mechanical Engineer – Mission Critical, will be a focal point of contact for the client and able to strategically influence.

As the Associate Mechanical Engineer – Mission Critical , you will be accountable for the overall MEP Design of large scale, technically complex Mission critical projects in the UK and overseas. Needless to say, experience within the critical systems/data centre design sector is essential.

Acting as project manager and MEP Design lead on major data centre design projects, you will have the ability to think outside of your discipline and work closely with all other disciplines such as structural, architectural and civils.

Associate Mechanical Engineer – Mission Critical, role requirements

  • Minimum of 8+ year’s experience gained within consultancy design, from a HVAC, Building services background
  • Proven background & thorough understanding of all RIBA Design stages
  • Relevant qualification – bachelors or ideally master’s in mechanical engineering or similar
  • Must have at least 5 years of recent and relevant data centre / mission critical projects experience in the UK or overseas
  • Must be chartered
  • Passion for sustainable design
  • Strong understand of BIM
  • The ability to build an internal & external network to maximise opportunities for new and repeat business
