Contract Senior Site Engineer
Our client who is a UK Engineering Consultancy who primarily work on large mining projects globally requires a Senior Site Engineer for a 12-month assignment to work in Sierra Leone on major iron ore process plant.
The project is a comminution upgrade of an iron ore process plant, including the construction of a primary gyratory crusher, overland conveyors, crushed ore stockpile, SAG mill + classification screens and a regrind tower mill.
The successful applicant will work as part of a construction management team as a Senior Site Engineer. The team is currently led by a Construction Manager (whom this role will assist and cover for R&R), and also a Site Planner, Site Document Controller, HSE Officer, QA/QC Officer, and Discipline Supervisors (Civil/Mech/Piping/EIC). The Senior Site Engineer will assist the Construction Manager, provide onsite technical management and act as a technical link to the home office engineering team in the UK.
Experience in construction of minerals processing plant (or similar heavy infrastructure) required.
Experience in Africa preferred.
Relevant degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Civil Engineering.
For the role there is a Fly in fly out (FIFO) Rotation: 9 weeks on and 3 weeks off.
The Working days will be either 10 or 12 hour days. The basic working week is 5.5 days (half day on Saturday, Sunday off). The basic working day is c10 hours, however in busy periods these days could be up to 12 hours.
The rate on offer is dependent on experience but as guide £500/day (10 hour working day) or £600/day (12 hour working day).
Travel days and R&R days are unpaid.
