Due to a vast increase in workload, I have a number of opportunities for Fire Engineers at all levels with one of my key clients established Fire Engineering teams, based in their London office, working on a multitude of projects in the UK and overseas.
I have worked in partnership with this international MEP Design consultancy for over 8 years in the UK and overseas, placing engineers from intermediate to board director level. They have an excellent, collaborative culture and a CIBSE approved training & development program, mental health and well being initiatives and some incredibly exciting projects in the UK and overseas,
Project sectors will give you variety in your work, across residential, commercial offices (including CAT A+B Fit-out) and hotels.
Applications are sought from candidates with experience providing fire safety advice on fire safety legislative compliance and design requirements to clients and professional design teams for individual buildings. Projects will range from complex high value innovative schemes for new developments, fit-outs and refurbishments through to minor schemes.
You will be an enthusiastic individual with a relevant engineering degree, ideally Fire Engineering, have a real passion for Fire Engineering design analysis for the built environment, and crucially have a passion for creative and intuitive design. Membership of the IFE would be advantageous as would chartered status.
You will have 4+ year’s professional experience working within a fire engineering / consultancy environment including experience of fire strategy development for clients.
You will have experience of preparing fire strategy reports, providing fire engineering solutions, carrying out smoke and heat modelling, fire risk assessments, and construction works processes and business development.
Detailed knowledge of fire safety legislative and building regulations including Part B Building Regulations, BS9999, BS9991 and BS7974 is essential, as is a good understanding of passive fire protection methods, smoke control systems, and fire suppression systems.
Experience creating and reporting on Computational Fluid Dynamic (CFD) fire models would be advantageous. You will also have knowledge of fire engineering tools such as Two-Zone Modelling and / or Fast-Lite, have the ability to view, print and mark up drawings using CAD, and be familiar with MS Office.
You will be a proactive individual with a strong commitment to customer service and the development of the group, have well developed communication skills, excellent presentation skills and attention to detail. You will have a proven ability to work effectively as part of a team, be able to manage your own time to meet deadlines and understand the commercial factors which affect design solutions.
