HR Manager (12 Month FTC – Mat Cover) Job, England

My client is a very well-established, multi-disciplinary consultancy with a strong focus on sustainability within the built environment. They are looking for a HR Manager to join them on a fixed-term contract (minimum 12 months) for maternity leave cover.

As HR Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the HR team whilst managing and providing oversight of HR services. You will work closely with the HR Director to deliver the vision, mission, and values of the organisation.

Role Responsibilities

  • Day to day management of HR team (4 direct reports – 2 HR Assistants, Talent Acquisition and a Learning and Development Manager)
  • To manage and provide oversight of HR services including conducting research and the presentation of findings in report format.
  • Implementation and updating of Company Policies
  • Works with the Business Services Director to deliver the vision, mission, and values of the Company
  • Checking and delegated sign off authority for the production of HR letters, reports, presentations, proposals and graphical board dashboards
  • Management of human resources process, including, onboarding, induction, employee relations, PDRs and offboarding
  • Maintain employee confidence and protect operations by keeping human resource information confidential
  • General typing duties including compilation and updating of staff records into an online management system
  • Addressing current working practices to maximise office and time efficiencies
  • Support the TA and L&D Manager in the delivery of recruitment and development requirements in the business
  • Support in the implementation of the company Wellness initiative
  • Maintain and update accurate HR records and data together with QA for same
  • Support business growth and strategy through recruitment and retention of employees
  • Support diversity, wellness and employee relations initiatives and working groups

The ideal candidate

  • 5-7 years in a similar role
  • CIPD Level 5 qualification or above
  • Degree qualified or equivalent HR qualification (desirable)
  • Previous Director level support experience in Human Resources (essential)
  • Good understanding of HR processes and terminology (essential)
  • Competent in research aspects and presenting findings
  • Ability to prepare impactful and succinct graphical information from multiple data sources
  • Previous experience in the preparation and submission of employee data reports by assembling, preparing, and analysing data
  • Adept at problem-solving, including being able to identify issues and resolve in a timely manner
  • Working experience of TUPE related matters
  • Working experience of HR and project management systems – eg SAP/OneHR (essential)
  • Evidencable management in respect of recruiting and deploying foreign workers, including Visa, A1, and other HR compliance aspects
