Intermediate to Senior Levels

Early finish Fridays

Great opportunity to join a large building services contractor who deliver sustainable and viable energy generation, distribution, and consumption management projects. The Mechanical Estimator will be working on projects ranging from £400,000 up to £20million.

Mechanical Estimator Duties:

  • Liaison with Accounts and Commercial teams to set up and ensure satisfactory credit for debtors
  • Determine the technical and commercial approach to each estimate in liaison with the Proposals Manager
  • Fully appraise client or company requirements in relation to each estimate under your responsibility in order to ensure a complete understanding of the requirements so that each requirement is met.
  • Co-ordinate related internal and external department input into projects under your responsibility
  • Upon receipt of authorised tender summary documents, compose and collate information to be presented
  • Upon successful award notify The Board and arrange prompt Contract Handover Provide comprehensive documentation to Project Engineering at Handover

Mechanical Estimator Qualities:

  • Preferably having the ability to perform basic mechanical / electrical (discipline specific) design such as equipment sizing checks
  • Experienced in procurement with the ability to perform accurate analysis of received quotations to ensure sufficiency of tenders
  • Strong Communication skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work alone or as a team member
  • Ability to read engineering drawings
  • Good technical skills with understanding of principles of design & build
