This is an excellent opportunity for a Geotechnical/Geoenvironmental Engineer to join an existing geotechnical engineering team within an excellent multi-disciplinary consultant, which provides support for projects primarily within the commercial, industrial, retail, education and residential sectors.
The successful Geotechnical Engineer will be responsible, under the leadership of a Senior Engineer, for the internal day-to-day management of small to medium scale projects and the engineering solutions for numerous schemes for clients across these sectors. The ability to operate as part of a wider project team and to represent the company with confidence to a variety of clients and outside organisations is required for the role. The candidate will have the ability to work on their own initiative and to coordinate their work with others, with high attention to accuracy and detail.
As such, there must be demonstrable technical ability in logging of trial pits and boreholes, in-situ environmental monitoring, scheduling of chemical contamination testing and interpretation of results in accordance with UK and European recognised guidelines, with good report writing skills.
A self-motivated person will have ample opportunity to improve their knowledge, skills, experience and to work with some of the world’s greatest businesses across a wide range of industry sectors. The role will suit a candidate with a minimum of 3 year’s relevant post-graduate experience with a first degree in an appropriate subject such as Geology, Civil Engineering or Environmental Science. Professional membership is preferred with a view to pursuing their Chartered Engineer or Chartered Geologist status with either the Institution of Civil Engineers or The Geological Society. In this respect, an internal mentoring and fully-funded training programme aimed at supporting the individual’s progression to Chartered Engineer status, will be provided.
