My client, specialising in Mechanical and Electrical building services for the London construction market, are recruiting a Project Manager to ensure that the project is completed on time and within budget, that the project’s objectives are met and that everyone else is undertaking the correct roles on site. The Project Manager will oversee the project to ensure the desired results are achieved, the most efficient resources are used and different interest involved are satisfied.

Projects are usually separate to day to day business activities and require a group of people to work together to achieve a set of specific objectives. The Project Manager will oversee the project to ensure the desired results are achieved, the most efficient resources are used and different interest involved are satisfied. Ensuring my clients best interest is represented at all times.

Responsibilities:

Agreeing project objectives.
Representing my clients interests.
Providing advice on the management of projects.
Organising the various professional people working on the project.
Carrying out risk assessments and method statements.
Making sure that all the aims of the project and programmes are met.
Making sure the quality standards are achieved.
Using IT systems and site sign in system to keep track of people and progress.
Recruiting specialists and sub-contractors.
Monitoring sub-contractors to ensure guidelines are maintained.
Overseeing the accounting, costing and billing.
Attending progress and programme meetings.
Liaising with the client as required.
Develop and issue programmes as required using Microsoft Project.
Identify and capture variations to the main contract.
Ensure colleagues undertake their roles efficiently.
Issue Technical Submitals in co-operation with the Technical Team.
Manage visiting or site based Quantity Surveyor.
Prepare and present monthly reviews with Directors.
Procure on site labour as required.
Liaise with the Buying Department on ordering materials.

Desired Qualifications:

Minimum HNC in a Building Services related subject preferred.
CSCS Black Managers Card.
SMSTS Health & Safety Certificate.
Minimum 7 year’s experience within a project manager’s role.
Experience on projects exceeding £5 Million.
Good mechanical installation knowledge with electrical knowledge secondary.
Experience of new build residential high rise projects including Energy Centres.
Good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Project.
Knowledge of Auto Cad and/or CAD software an advantage.
