Headline of the M&E Senior Quantity Surveyor

Working for an International contractor as M&E Senior Quantity Surveyor you will focus on projects centered around the European data centre construction market. Here you will use your expertise to oversee the M&E/Building Services engineering design and installation on these varied European projects. As Senior Quantity Surveyor you will join this contractor’s European delivery team as they work with data centre clients and contractors to deliver high end projects with a clear focus to reduce risk whilst still making sure an exceptional final product is delivered.

About the Senior M&E Quantity Surveyor

With a strong background of delivering data centres or additional projects in clean rooms, mission critical, pharma, oil & gas, energy and technical commercial projects, you will quickly become an integral member of the project team, as you play your part in every aspect of project delivery. These high value projects will require your knowledge and knowhow from bid stage right the way through to handover.

Your first project will be based in Dublin, before moving onto additional data centre and mission critical projects either in Ireland or Europe. As the incumbent Senior M&E Quantity Surveyor you will have the chance to join a company who invest in their staff and support career development alongside interesting projects.

  • The ideal Senior M&E Quantity Surveyor should also be based in Ireland or happy to relocate.

Headline of the Senior M&E Quantity Surveyor

Working for an international contractor as the Senior M&E Quantity Surveyor you will work closely with the Lead Commercial Manager to deliver an exciting project. Here you will take ownership for financial procedures including ensuring that cashflow figures for the project are accurately kept, allowing the client to draw down on the correct project funding requirements each quarter.

Key requirements for the Senior M&E Quantity Surveyor

  • Previous experience of successfully being involved in large projects
  • Strong experience of supporting projects that were in budget and on time
  • A history of working on and delivering M&E projects
  • You should be someone who can bring good experience of working on data centre projects or projects in clean rooms, mission critical, pharma, oil & gas, energy and technical commercial projects
  • Ideally have an industry-recognised building qualification in Quantity Surveying

Key deliverables of the Senior M&E Quantity Surveyor

  • Drive commercial best practice of sub-contract packages
  • Provide feedback to contractors on project package completion
  • Develop initial project budget and agree detailed cost plan with the Lead Commercial Manager for agreement with the professional team
  • Monitor and ensure that works undertaken are fully authorised at all times.
  • Oversee and monitor the bid package tender schedule
  • Additional duties
    • Prepare final account reconciliation
    • Create regular budget and price updates
    • Update computerised cost control system
    • Prepare monthly cost and progress report for interior directors
    • Take active responsibility for all financial procedures in conjunction with the Lead Commercial Manager

Key skills/experience of the new Senior M&E Quantity Surveyor

  • Sound knowledge of project planning and execution
  • Good knowledge of contractual obligations
  • Be a strong communicator
  • Have experience in the delivery of a widely recognised market leading contractors’ projects

Key requirements for the Senior M&E Quantity Surveyor

With the project based in Dublin you must also show a proven knowledge of the English language and be a fluent or bilingual speaker. You will also need to ideally have 8 years plus experience in a similar role delivering M&E or MEP projects
