MEP Construction Manager Job, Spartanburg Job Description
THE ROLE
As MEP Construction Manager, you’ll be the day-to-day technical point of contact for MEP systems, working closely with subcontractors, OEMs, equipment vendors, construction leadership and QA/QC commissioning stakeholders.
Your focus will be ensuring technically accurate installation, resolving MEP issues and getting systems ready for successful commissioning.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
- Review MEP submittals, shop drawings, equipment specifications and RFIs for technical accuracy and code compliance.
- Evaluate design changes and field conditions affecting electrical, cooling, controls and fire alarm systems.
- Coordinate the technical resolution of MEP construction conflicts.
- Manage technical aspects of equipment delivery, logistics, storage and installation sequencing.
- Confirm O&M documentation and OEM startup requirements are available ahead of installation.
- Represent the project as technical evaluator during FAT and FWT activities.
- Support commissioning readiness, CMOP development and resolution of deficiencies found during testing.
- Provide technical input into switching plans and load bank testing.
- Coordinate with construction and commissioning leadership on MEP sequencing, readiness and documentation.
- Present MEP technical status at project and stakeholder meetings.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
- 7+ years of MEP technical experience within mission-critical or industrial environments.
- Strong knowledge of high/low-voltage electrical systems, mechanical/cooling systems, building controls and fire alarm systems.
- Engineering-level experience reviewing MEP submittals, specifications and shop drawings.
- Experience coordinating equipment logistics and OEM startup requirements.
- Familiarity with FAT/FWT and technical equipment acceptance.
- Proficiency with Procore, BIM 360, Primavera P6 and CxAlloy.
- US work authorisation without current or future employer sponsorship.
A relevant engineering degree is preferred, although substantial hands-on MEP field experience can be considered. Familiarity with NFPA, NEC, IEEE and ASHRAE standards, plus hyperscale data center or HPC experience, will also be advantageous.
