MEP Superintendent – Data Center Job, Texas

MEP Superintendent | Data Centre Construction | $180k-$200k Travelling role across Texas, Chicago and the East Coast | Minimum 2-year project

We’re supporting an established mission-critical construction organisation looking to appoint an experienced MEP Superintendent for a major new data centre programme.

This is a field-focused leadership opportunity for a Superintendent who understands how to drive complex mechanical, electrical and plumbing packages from installation through commissioning and turnover. The position offers a $180,000-$200,000 base salary and requires full-time travel between projects across Texas, Chicago and the East Coast.

The Opportunity As MEP Superintendent, you’ll take ownership of day-to-day field execution across the MEP scope, working closely with trade contractors, Project Managers, commissioning teams and project stakeholders.
You’ll be responsible for ensuring work is delivered safely, to programme and to the required quality standards, while proactively resolving coordination and constructability issues in the field.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead field execution across mechanical, electrical and plumbing packages
• Manage and coordinate MEP trade contractors and subcontractors
• Drive short-term planning and schedule execution against key project milestones
• Coordinate MEP activities with the wider construction programme
• Identify and resolve field coordination and constructability issues
• Maintain high standards of quality control and installation compliance
• Champion site safety and hold trade partners accountable to project expectations
• Work closely with Project Managers, Owners and other project stakeholders
• Support MEP commissioning, system start-up and turnover activities
• Monitor progress and escalate potential schedule, quality or delivery risks
• Participate in coordination meetings and support effective communication between field teams

What You’ll Bring

Essential:

• Approximately 7+ years of construction experience, with significant field leadership responsibility
• 5+ years in a Superintendent or comparable field leadership position managing MEP trades
• Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical and plumbing installation and coordination
• Experience delivering data centre, mission-critical or similarly complex technical construction
• Proven trade contractor management experience
• Strong understanding of construction sequencing and schedule execution
• Experience managing quality and safety in an active construction environment
• Understanding of commissioning and project turnover processes
• Ability and willingness to undertake full-time project travel

Desirable:

• Hyperscale data centre construction experience
• Electrical infrastructure experience
• Mission-critical commissioning exposure
• BIM/VDC coordination experience
• Procore experience
• Primavera P6 knowledge
• Spanish language skills
