A leading international engineering consultancy is seeking a Principal Civil Engineer to join its rapidly growing Data Centre team. Working on major hyperscale and co-location developments across the UK, Europe and wider international markets, you will provide technical leadership on large-scale infrastructure projects throughout the full project lifecycle.
The successful Principal Civil Engineer will work closely with civil, structural, geotechnical, mechanical and electrical engineering teams, supporting the delivery of innovative solutions for major technology clients while helping to develop technical standards and drive business growth within the mission critical sector.
We Are Looking For A Principal Civil Engineer Who:
- Is degree qualified in Civil Engineering or a related discipline;
- Is Chartered (CEng MICE or equivalent), or operating at Chartered level;
- Has extensive experience delivering complex civil infrastructure projects;
- Has experience within data centres, mission critical infrastructure or major development projects;
- Has strong knowledge of highways, drainage, earthworks, utilities and development infrastructure;
- Understands planning, approval and statutory authority processes;
- Has experience leading multidisciplinary design teams;
- Is comfortable providing technical governance and project oversight;
- Has experience working within BIM environments and collaborative delivery platforms;
- Enjoys mentoring and developing engineers within a growing team.
As The Successful Principal Civil Engineer, You Will:
- Lead the civil engineering delivery of hyperscale data centre developments;
- Develop infrastructure solutions including drainage, highways, utilities, pavements and earthworks;
- Review and approve technical designs, specifications and project documentation;
- Coordinate with structural, geotechnical, mechanical and electrical engineering teams;
- Provide technical leadership and governance across major projects;
- Support client engagement and business development activities;
- Assist with strategic planning, asset reviews and infrastructure optimisation studies;
- Mentor and develop engineers across the civil engineering team;
- Drive technical excellence and best practice throughout project delivery;
- Contribute to the continued growth of a market-leading data centre division.
