Senior Vertical Transportation Engineer | Lift Design | Traffic Analysis | High-Rise Buildings | Transportation Infrastructure An internationally recognised multidisciplinary engineering consultancy is seeking a Senior Vertical Transportation Engineer to join its growing London-based team.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on some of the world’s most complex and prestigious developments, helping to deliver innovative vertical transportation solutions across major commercial, residential, transport, healthcare, aviation and cultural projects throughout the UK and internationally.

The successful candidate will play a key role in the design, specification and delivery of lift, escalator and people-moving solutions from concept through to completion, collaborating closely with architects, developers, contractors and multidisciplinary engineering teams.

The Role As a Senior Vertical Transportation Engineer, you will:

• Lead vertical transportation design packages across multiple projects
• Develop lift strategies, traffic analysis and passenger flow solutions
• Undertake lift traffic simulations and interpret performance data
• Produce technical specifications, reports, calculations and tender documentation
• Provide design input on new-build, refurbishment and modernisation projects
• Assess existing lift installations and recommend upgrade or replacement strategies
• Engage directly with clients, architects, developers and contractors
• Support and mentor junior engineers within the team
• Contribute to technically challenging projects involving complex building environments

Requirements You will ideally have:

• Degree qualification in Engineering, Building Services, Architecture or a related discipline
• Chartered Engineer status or be actively working towards chartership
• Proven experience delivering Vertical Transportation (VT) design projects
• Strong understanding of passenger lift and escalator systems
• Experience using Elevate or equivalent lift traffic analysis software
• Knowledge of relevant industry standards including:
  • EN81 Series
  • BS9999
  • BS8899
  • BS7255
  • ISO 8100
  • CIBSE Guide D
• Experience working on commercial, residential, mixed-use or transportation projects
• Strong client-facing communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
