Associate / AD Structural Engineer

35,000 – 45,000 AED per month all incl.

Iconic projects and exceptional architectural partnerships combine to create a unique opportunity for an Associate / AD Structural Engineer in the Dubai Structural Engineering team of an international consultancy.

This opportunity will see you playing a significant role on a diverse range of work, including conventional design projects as well as technical consultancy. 

Associates will typically take responsibility for management of people, commercial issues and an interface with the wider project team. In this capacity Associates represent the company internally and externally on behalf of the group.

They wanted to create a premier boutique engineering consultancy in the MENA region that would push the boundaries and redefine the possibilities in the built environment. A consultancy that would offer unparalleled expertise in the engineering consultancy domain.

As a key part of the Engineering team, your responsibilities will be varied but will broadly include:

• Preparation of Technical Specifications and checking the work/specifications of other Engineers in the team

• Leadership of projects on behalf of the group, taking ownership for sustained and productive client relationships. 

• Supporting the Group Director in the leadership of the structures team. 

• Reviewing job financial performance and managing resources accordingly. 

• Guiding less experienced team members in order to achieve the project success. 

• Supporting delivery of the team’s Performance and Development Review process. 

• Providing support in seeking new work from existing clients. 

• Preparing bid proposals and additional fee proposals (with the support of the Group Directors, Associate Directors and Bid team colleagues)

Requirements

• Minimum 10-12 years of experience in engineering consultancy firms. 

• An outstanding foundation as a technical and project leader; demonstrated via a track record of successful delivery over a sustained period within the industry. 

• A qualified graduate engineer in Civil/Structural Engineering.

• Mentoring and leadership experience of other Engineering professionals, desire and ability to support in developing individuals skills, whilst encouraging collaboration and cohesive teamwork. 

• Masters degree/Chartered Engineering will be an added advantage. 

• Experience in Middle East projects will be highly preferred.

• In addition, any experience within Business Development, an involvement with any academic bodies or residence and consultancy experience abroad would stand you in excellent stead although these are not essential.
