Principal Construction Manager – Data Center Builds
️ Full-Time | U.S.-Based | 50%+ Travel | On-Site Leadership
We’re seeking a seasoned Principal Construction Manager to lead the on-site execution of fast-paced, high-density GPU data center builds across the U.S. and globally. Reporting to the Director of Data Center Construction, you’ll be the boots-on-the-ground leader ensuring delivery of safe, on-schedule, and on-budget facilities that meet some of the most demanding power and cooling specs in the industry.
This role is ideal for a construction leader who thrives under pressure, moves decisively in the field, and excels at coordinating cross-trade execution in complex, mission-critical environments.
What You’ll Do
Drive end-to-end construction execution from site mobilization to substantial completion
Enforce a zero-incident safety culture across all contractors and trades
Lead real-time coordination of CSA and MEP scopes, resolving field conflicts efficiently
Track daily site progress, resource loading, budget burn, and earned value
Oversee QA/QC, RFI workflows, material submittals, and change-order processes
Interface with internal design, procurement, commissioning, and operations teams for seamless handoffs
Travel regularly (50%+) to active construction sites and vendor facilities across the U.S.
✅ What You Bring
10+ years of experience managing hyperscale, semiconductor, or mission-critical construction projects (≥ 20 MW)
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or related field
Deep understanding of CSA and MEP scopes, fast-track build methods, and commissioning practices
OSHA 30 certified (or equivalent) with strong familiarity with NFPA 70E, local codes, and permit processes
Proven track record of delivering projects across multiple geographies on aggressive schedules
Strong leadership skills — able to align trades, manage conflict, and drive execution
Comfortable working from IFC plans, BIM/Revit models, and construction documentation in the field
Willing and able to be on-site from start to finish of major projects
This is a U.S.-based role. Candidates must be eligible to work in the U.S. and willing to travel 50%+ to active project sites.
