Civil Engineer (Below Ground Drainage)
Location: London | Salary: Up to £55,000

The Opportunity:
Energi People has been exclusively retained to recruit the client’s first permanent dedicated drainage engineer, following a period where the role was covered by temporary engineers. This is a unique opportunity to establish a permanent drainage function, lead below ground drainage design, and play a key role in shaping the future of the civil engineering team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead below ground drainage design and delivery across projects.

• Produce surface water management reports and associated technical documentation.

• Manage technical challenges independently, with minimal supervision — ideal for engineers progressing through chartership.

• Work hands-on initially, with a pathway to senior/leadership responsibilities and team management.

• Develop the drainage service into a revenue-generating offering.

Candidate Profile:

• At least 3/4 years’ civil engineering experience, with a strong focus on below ground drainage.

• Confident and proactive, able to work independently with minimal support.

• Ambitious, with interest in growing into a leadership role and managing a team in the future.

• Experience with housing, community, or sports-related projects, or working alongside tier 1 contractors, is advantageous.

• Strong problem-solving skills and a self-starter mentality.
