Senior Structural Engineer – Central London | Hybrid Working

Are you a forward-thinking Senior Structural Engineer looking to work on innovative and socially responsible design projects in London? This is an exciting opportunity to join a progressive engineering consultancy that’s redefining how the built environment is designed, delivered, and experienced.

About the Role

We’re seeking a talented Senior Structural Engineer with a minimum of 5+ years’ post-graduate experience (including at least one year in the UK). You’ll take a lead role in delivering a diverse range of projects — from high-end commercial new builds and complex refurbishments to mass housing developments, educational buildings, and architecturally ambitious private residences.

Experience working with timber and composite materials is highly desirable, and Chartership (or progress towards it) will be a strong advantage.

You’ll collaborate closely with architects, sustainability consultants, and other engineering disciplines to create structures that balance aesthetics, performance, and environmental responsibility. The team is passionate about designing for the common good — engineering solutions that make a genuine, positive impact on society and the climate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality engineering solutions on time and within budget

  • Take ownership of design and technical delivery for small to medium projects, and support on complex, large-scale ones

  • Liaise with clients, architects, and external consultants throughout the project lifecycle

  • Prepare design calculations, reports, and production information

  • Visit sites to monitor progress and attend coordination meetings

  • Contribute to appointment, fee, and project management discussions

  • Support and mentor junior engineers and technicians

  • Proactively engage in ongoing professional development (CPD / IPD)

About You

  • 5+ years’ experience in structural engineering, including at least 1 year in the UK

  • Chartered or working towards Chartership (IStructE / ICE)

  • Strong academic background in Civil or Structural Engineering

  • Skilled in project management, resource planning, and client communication

  • Experience working with multi-disciplinary design teams and high-profile architects

  • Passionate about sustainable design and progressive engineering practice

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

What’s on Offer

  • Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package (including healthcare, gym allowance, and bonuses)

  • Hybrid working policy promoting flexibility and work-life balance

  • Support through an ICE / IStructE accredited training scheme

  • Opportunities to work on landmark UK projects and international collaborations

  • A creative, inclusive, and forward-thinking culture that values innovation and ethical design

If you’re passionate about sustainable structural engineering, collaborative design, and creating buildings that truly make a difference, we’d love to hear from you.
