THE ROLE

Due to continued growth in the data centre sector, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a MEP Design Manager to join a leading global consultancy’s design delivery team in Dubai.
 

In this role, you’ll be responsible for managing the full design coordination process for large-scale, technically complex data centre developments across the MENA region.

Your role will involve:

• Overseeing multi-disciplinary coordination between mechanical, electrical, and ICT teams.

• Managing project design programmes and deliverables to meet key milestones.

• Leading technical design reviews, page-turn meetings, and progress reporting.

• Ensuring compliance with local authority requirements and permitting standards.

• Supporting tender submissions, presentations, and client interface management.

• Driving design efficiency, consistency, and innovation across global delivery teams.

This position suits an ambitious, detail-oriented design professional with strong organisational and client leadership skills, looking to progress within the MEP Data Centre Design space.

REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS

• Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering (or equivalent).

• 5-10 years’ experience in design management or MEP coordination within building services consultancies.

• Proven exposure to data centre, mission critical, or large-scale mixed-use projects.

• Familiar with UAE design permitting and authority submission processes.

• Familiarity with international standards (IEEE, NFPA, ASHRAE, IEC, Uptime Institute, ISO/IEC, TIA, BSI).

• Accredited Tier Designer (ATD) certification preferred.

• Excellent understanding of MEP, architectural, and structural design integration.

• Strong client-facing, communication, and presentation skills.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Project; capable of managing multiple concurrent design streams.

• Knowledge of international codes (ASHRAE, NFPA, BS, IEC, etc.).

• Chartered or working towards chartership with CIBSE/IMechE highly desirable.
