Associate Director

Location: London, United Kingdom
Type: Full-time, Permanent

Be part of something new. Build your legacy with global backing.

A successful and rapidly growing engineering consultancy, established overseas in 2017, has expanded to over 60 professionals across three offices. With a strong reputation for technical excellence, collaboration, and entrepreneurial drive, the business is now launching its first UK office — and is seeking a technically astute, commercially minded Associate Director to lead growth and work-winning efforts in this new market.

This is a unique opportunity to build and shape a business from the ground up, supported by the resources, systems, and expertise of a thriving international consultancy.

What You’ll Do

  • Drive client engagement and business development strategies to secure new opportunities across the UK.

  • Use your strong technical foundation in structural engineering to build trust and credibility with clients and partners.

  • Leverage your professional network to establish and expand the consultancy’s local presence.

  • Collaborate with international senior leadership to deliver aligned business strategies and design excellence.

  • Mentor and develop a high-performing local team, fostering a culture of innovation, quality, and collaboration.

  • Champion the firm’s reputation as a trusted, forward-thinking structural and multidisciplinary consultancy.

What You’ll Bring

  • Chartered Engineer status (MIStructE or MICE) with a strong background in structural engineering.

  • Extensive experience across a range of building types, materials, and construction methods.

  • Proven success in business development, client leadership, or work-winning within the engineering or built environment sector.

  • A strong professional network and the confidence to engage with senior industry stakeholders.

  • Entrepreneurial drive — motivated to lead, build, and grow a new UK operation.

  • Strategic thinking, commercial awareness, and a collaborative leadership style.

Why This Role?

  • Shape something new – join at the start of an exciting UK venture with the freedom to make your mark.

  • Global support – benefit from the expertise, systems, and backing of a successful international business.

  • Empowered leadership – autonomy to influence direction and develop a high-performing team.

  • Dynamic culture – innovative, inclusive, and growth-focused.
