The Role
We are seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join our growing team in the Poole area. You will take the lead on structural projects from initial concept through to completion, working closely with clients, architects, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer to work on diverse projects including residential, commercial, education, and leisure developments.
Key Responsibilities
Lead structural engineering projects, ensuring high-quality, safe, and cost-effective designs.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians.
Review and approve structural calculations, drawings, and specifications.
Liaise with clients, architects, contractors, and other consultants throughout the design and construction process.
Ensure compliance with building regulations, design codes, and industry standards.
Contribute to business development through proposals, tender submissions, and client presentations.
Technical Experience & Expertise
Proven experience in structural design for residential, commercial, and public buildings.
Strong knowledge of reinforced concrete, steel, masonry, and timber structures.
Proficient in structural analysis software and CAD packages (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Robot, Tekla).
Experience preparing calculations, drawings, and construction details to UK standards.
Familiarity with building regulations, Eurocodes, and CDM requirements.
Experience & Qualifications
Typically 8–15 years’ experience in structural engineering.
Chartered status (CEng/ICES) or working towards chartership.
Confidence in managing projects independently and mentoring junior staff.
