Job Opportunity: Principal or Associate Sustainability Consultant (Energy Focus)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Ownership: Take charge of delivering large-scale projects with top-tier clients.

  • Team Management: Manage and prioritize the workload of your project team, ensuring efficient resource allocation.

  • Mentorship: Contribute to the development of junior team members through effective delegation, management, and review of their work.

  • Client Interaction: Lead workshops with clients and design teams, communicating information clearly and concisely.

  • Technical Expertise: Undertake a range of modelling and analysis, including embodied carbon of materials, circular economy opportunities, building performance simulation, operational energy use, energy generation, and overheating.

  • Strategy Development: Lead the creation of sustainability and energy strategies.

  • Environmental Assessments: Oversee the delivery of environmental assessments (such as BREEAM, WELL, HQM) from early design stages through to completion.

  • Net Zero Goals: Support the drive towards achieving net zero whole life carbon in projects.

  • Research and Development: Collaborate on research initiatives to maintain cutting-edge industry knowledge.

About You:

To excel in this role, you should have:

  • Relevant Experience: Proven experience in the built environment sector, particularly within a sustainability or engineering consultancy.

  • Technical Skills: Knowledge in areas such as energy strategies, Building Regulations Part L assessments, in-use energy modelling, dynamic modelling for thermal comfort and overheating risk assessments, and net zero carbon strategies.

  • Educational Background: A degree in a relevant field and a passion for creating sustainable solutions.

  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills and a collaborative spirit.

  • Commitment to Sustainability: A serious commitment to sustainability and enthusiasm for working within a team environment.
