Principal or Associate Structural Engineer (Team Leader)

Since the establishment of this Leeds office decades ago, the skyline of towns and cities in the Yorkshire Region has been re-shaped and enhanced.
You will join the Leeds office as an energetic, self-motivated, and enthusiastic team leader at Principal Engineer or Associate Level. You will embrace technical challenges and be a positive force in the office and wider business. You will see the value and potential in people and nurture individuals to bring out their very best.
You will be part of a strong team in the Leeds office, where success is down to the people engaged and developed. You will contribute to sustainable growth and continue to deliver a variety of schemes in sectors such as Healthcare, Residential, Leisure, Commercial mixed use, Schools, and Higher Education.
What you’ll be doing
You will manage and develop a team of up to 8 people. You will lead that team in the delivery of a portfolio of projects, handling people management (colleagues and clients where appropriate), financial management, quality, and project management within your team.
You will contribute towards developing and delivering business strategies in the Leeds office, and where appropriate, the wider business, driving innovation and best practice. You will also have the opportunity to engage in Business Development, through the development of a network of clients and partners.
What we need from you

You will be a chartered engineer (or actively working towards this under a recognised professional institution training pathway if at Principal Engineer level).

You will have experience leading a team of engineers and technicians in the delivery of a wide range of projects and be able to inspire a team to develop to their full potential.

You will explain ideas and solutions clearly and concisely to project teams and clients and always seek new opportunities for the business and your team.
- Above all, you will be guided by what is right when making decisions, continually challenge yourself and others to improve, and recognise the contribution of others and share their successes.
