Senior ELV & ICT Design Engineer (Data Centres)

Our Client is a global consultancy dedicated to designing and delivering high-performance infrastructure for data centres and mission-critical environments. With a strong presence in the Middle East, we are expanding our Abu Dhabi team to support a growing portfolio of technically advanced projects.

Role Overview

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior ELV & ICT Design Engineer with a balanced 50/50 background in ELV (Extra Low Voltage) and ICT (Information and Communications Technology) systems, for a client based in Abu Dhabi. The ideal candidate will have 10–15 years of design experience, including 3–5 years in data centre environments, and will be confident in both hands-on design and reviewing contractor submissions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design of ELV and ICT systems for data centres and other mission-critical facilities.

• Conduct peer reviews of contractor designs to ensure compliance with project specifications and international standards.

• Review and approve material submittals, shop drawings, and technical documentation.

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including architects, MEP engineers, and project managers.

• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers.

• Interface with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure design quality and project success.

• Stay current with emerging technologies and standards in ELV and ICT systems.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related discipline.

• 10–15 years of hands-on design experience in ELV and ICT systems.

• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in data centre design.

• Strong knowledge of international standards (TIA, BICSI, ISO, etc.).

• Experience in peer reviewing contractor designs and managing submittals.

• Proficiency in design tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, and BIM workflows.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Preferred Certifications

• BICSI RCDD or equivalent

• PMP or similar project management certification

• LEED accreditation (advantageous)
